Sigma Connectivity is seeking an experienced and skilled salesperson to join our Business Development and Sales team, focusing on sales of engineering design services (software and hardware) to our existing and new Bay Area customers. This role is perfect for an individual who excels at blending technical expertise with exceptional communication, relationship-building skills, and a keen business acumen.

Our ideal candidate is experienced in sales of engineering services, has recently worked with large Bay Area customers selling engineering services to them, has a large customer contact network, is a good listener, is passionate about solving customer’s engineering problems and positioning Sigma Connectivity's services as indispensable solutions to client’s challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement: You will primarily be working with our Silicon Valley customers by understanding their technical and business challenges, finding solutions, and offering tailored SW and HW solutions to our customers.
  • Relationship Building: You are a people person and can develop and maintain trusting relationships with our clients through honesty, reliability, clear communication, and consistent delivery on our commitments. You already have a large network of business and customer contacts, and you are looking forward to growing your network with Sigma.
  • Sales: Find new customer leads, understand customer needs and business goals, find practical solutions with our engineering team, effectively communicate Sigma Connectivity's value proposition, navigate the competitive landscape, and close contracts with our customers.
  • Team Collaboration: Assure that customer expectations are set correctly and that the Sigma engineering team delivering the services is fully onboard and understands the customer expectations. Work closely with the Sigma engineering and project teams to ensure seamless service delivery to clients. Be the customer voice within Sigma Connectivity proving the customer perspective to the rest of Sigma Connectivity.

Job Location and Travel Requirements

  • You will primarily be working with our Silicon Valley-based customers and meeting the customers at the customer sites. This role requires mostly only local travel.
  • When not meeting customers and Sigma teams at the customer sites, you will be working from the Sigma Connectivity San Jose, CA office and from home.
  • There will be occasional business trips to meet our existing and new customers mostly on the west coast of the USA, trips to conventions like the CES, and trips to our headquarters in Lund, Sweden.

Work Experience

  • Experience and track record of selling engineering services and managing customer relationships.
  • 3-5 years of software development experience (Android Framework, embedded systems,..) as part of a SW development team. Alternatively, 3 - 5 years of hardware, mechanical engineering, and/or project management experience.
  • Proven track record of managing or working as part of a product development team.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency: With your hands-on engineering experience, and working as part of engineering teams, you are easily able to relate to the engineering challenges our customers are facing. With your in-depth knowledge of engineering and design services, you can propose how we at Sigma can best solve customers’ engineering challenges.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and listen actively to understand client needs.
  • Relationship Building: Natural ability to connect with customers and solve their problems.
  • Business Acumen: Keen understanding of client business objectives, with effective negotiation skills.
  • Service Delivery Awareness: Understanding of customer project lifecycles and ability to facilitate teamwork.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in dealing with changing circumstances and client needs, maintaining resilience in the face of challenges and assuring that if engineering requirements change, the customer contracts are also updated accordingly. Flexible in managing diverse client needs and schedules across different time zones.

Vi erbjuder

The annual salary range for this role is $150,000 – $250,000 per year. The Annual Salary depends upon various job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
